How’s this for a really fancy bike. It is made by a company called Follis… they are mostly known for tandems. Made in France circa 1970 or so… with all the geeky french only thread patterns that make it stupid hard to find parts for.
it features:
nervex professional lugs, tubulars on Wooden Cherchio Ghisalo rims (yes… wooden wheels… really), “Prior” hubs, Campagnolo partial “drillium” record groupo, Brooks Swift titanium saddle, Belleri handle bars, Mafac racer drillium brake levers. and a stainless steel flask rather than a bottle holder. Stop laughing… do you see any french bread… no.
Prior hub… ridiculously drilled out… and uber rare… thus reflecting upon the smugness of the owner
this last image of the hub was stolen off ClassicRendezvous.com which is a really interesting bicycle website
Eric,
I just wanted to say thank you so much for your time that you shared with me the other day at the Cal Poly Portfolio Review. It was extremely helpful and actually quite fun. You have pursued your passions and that is what I respect and needed to see. So thank you again. Also, here is something you might like. A book being released by Gestalten called “Velo”.
